- 1 tablespoon mustard
- 1 dozen dinner rolls (preferably Hawaiian rolls)
- 6-8 slices Provolone cheese
- Ingredients for cheese spread:
- 4 ounces cream cheese (softened)
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon poppy seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon season salt
- Ingredients for buttery topping:
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1 tablespoon mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
- 1 teaspoon poppy seeds
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Brown hamburger along with the diced onion, drain if necessary. Add crushed pineapple, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, brown sugar and mustard. Simmer for 20 minutes to thicken.
- Mix all cheese spread ingredients together.
- Butter or spray a 9x9 or 10x10 baking dish.
- Slice the entire package of dinner rolls in half, so you have a top and bottom. Arrange the bottom of the dinner rolls in the baking dish and spread the cream cheese mixture evenly on the bottom rolls.
- Spoon on the sloppy joe mixture. Top the sloppy joe mixture with the 6-8 slices of Provolone cheese. Place top of the rolls over the sloppy joe mixture.
- Melt butter and mix remaining topping ingredients together. Spoon the buttery topping evenly over all of the dinner rolls.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the tops of the rolls are golden brown.
