Sweet & Savory Meatball Sub on a Stick
Ingredients
- Meatball ingredients:
- 1 pound hamburger
- 1 tablesoon diced garlic
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon seasoned salt
- 1 small onion (diced)
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan
- 1 can crescent roll dough (cut into 10 strips)
- 10 wooden skewer sticks
- 1 cup Mozzarella (shredded)
- Sweet glaze ingredients:
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon mustard
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, combine hamburger, garlic, pepper, seasoned salt, onion, egg, milk, Worcestershire sauce and parmesan.
- Roll into 30, one-inch meatballs.
- Open cans of refrigerated crescent rolls and cut into 10 long strips.
- Thread dough and three meatballs onto wooden skewer, alternating with dough and meatballs, ending with dough. Lay skewer on the parchment covered baking sheet.
- For the Sweet Glaze, combine ketchup, brown sugar and mustard. Brush the tops of each meatball with the glaze, glaze only the meatball, not the dough. Bake 20-30 minutes, or until the meatballs are thoroughly cooked.
- Sprinkle the hot bread with Mozzarella as soon as you remove them from the oven so that it melts.
